Red Diamond Scholarship Gala

Gala History:
Richland County Alumnae Chapter (RCA), Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in partnership with the Fortitude Foundation, Inc., whose mission is to transform lives and impact communities, host an annual fundraiser known as the Red Diamond Scholarship Gala traditionally during the first week in June. We strive to make a great difference in the community. This year our annual signature event will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

The inaugural scholarship gala, known as RCA Holiday Gala, was held in December 1995. Following the success of the first gala, RCA set out on a purpose to grow our community outreach and impact. Today, the Red Diamond Scholarship Gala is the chapter’s signature fundraising event. With the support of the Fortitude Foundation, our community partners, friends and family, RCA has awarded over $460,000 to deserving high school seniors and college students. Your support helps elevate their academic journey and provide life changing experiences.

Gala Purpose:
What started as a Holiday Gala in December of 1995 has morphed into a much anticipated annual gala driven by purpose. Members of Richland County Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. are driven by our mission to provide continuous and effective programs, projects and public service initiatives in Richland, Lexington, Newberry, and Fairfield counties. The mission of Fortitude Foundation, Inc. is to uplift, empower, transform and impact lives across our communities by promoting a high standard of living educationally, economically, physically and mentally. Through this partnership, we will continue to press forward to ensure that these missions are accomplished through our concerted efforts.
